What do you believe are the chief reasons for students' academic failure in college? Explain.

College is overwhelming in many ways. I think one of the main reasons for academic failure is anxiety. Another reason could be that the student is trying to do too much at one time and don't have the time they need to study. Last but not least, most of the students are probably receiving financial aid or their parents are paying for it, so it's not their money being wasted if they don't succeed.
Many students have anxiety when first starting college. It's completely different from what they are use to, and then normally the first semester, they get witches for professors, which is enough to make anybody give up. A lot of the professors don't understand or shall I say remember what it's like being a full time college student. The only thing I can say to these students is do your best and don't give up.
Another reason for academic failure is not enough study time. Many people aren't eligible for financial aid or fortunate enough to have parents to pay their way through college. These students are the ones trying to work a full time job, go to school, and take care of the household as well. Teachers will tell students all day that they realize they have a life outside of school, but by the time all of them get done with your assignments, it seems they really could care less about the load you are bearing.
Last, occasionally you do have them students who are having to pay nothing and just really don't give a crap about school. These are the students who have had everything handed to them in life and their only motivation for doing well a lot of times is a new car. People like me who have to work for any and everything they get do their best because we're having to pay for it out of our own pockets.
Attending college can be scary, but you just have to stay motivated and never give up. As long as you put forth good effort and try your best, that's all you can do!
